We chose the FieldTurf XT system because it features a slit-film fiber that has been designed to be the best in terms of slit-film durability and softness, coupled with a 2-layer infill system of SBR Rubber and Silica Sand to provide a proper cushion.

The FieldTurf XT system is featured at the London United FC training center, the University of Arizona, the University of Notre Dame – Guglielmino Athletics Complex, Binghamton University and several other notable NCAA Division I, programs. 

Our fields are the only 3 indoor turf fields which have been GMAX tested and certified in New York State.

What is GMAX and why does it matter?

GMAX is a unit of measurement that quantifies how hard a surface is. The higher the GMAX rating, the harder and more dangerous the surface is. A study in 2015, by the Concussion Foundation found in high school athletes, 1 in 5 concussions were a result of an athlete’s contact with the playing surface. Thus the goal of any field turf operator is to reduce and maintain the GMAX rating of their turf to its lowest amount. Normal wear and tear on synthetic turf will increase the GMAX rating over time, which is why yearly maintenance is required.
